What is Monstober? Monstober (previously named Disney Channel’s Hauntober Fest and later called Wiz-tober in 2008) was a nightly marathon of Halloween-related movies that debuted on October 1, 2005 on Disney Channel. In 2012, Wiz-tober was renamed Monstober to get ready for the Girl Vs. Monster premiere. Monstober officially ended after October 2016. Since 2021, Disney Channel has ran the “Calling All the Monsters” programming block during the month of October featuring various Halloween themed TV specials and original movies.

Great news Pumpkin kings and queens 👑🎃
Disney Channel is starting Halloween SO early this year that it’s starting to seem like they’re planning something amazing for October this year.
    Here is everything coming!
Sun, Sep 25 – UNDER WRAPS 2 (Halloween DCOM) 8/7c
    9:35pm – BUNK’D (HALLOWEEN EPISODE)
    Halloween premiere week:
Tue, Sep 27 – Eureka (HALLOWEEN EPISODE) 11:00am.
Wed, Sep 28 – Puppy Dog Pals (HALLOWEEN EPISODE) Disney Jr 11:00pm
Thu Sep 29 – Mickey Mouse Funhouse (HALLOWEEN EPISODE) Disney Jr 11:00pm.
Fri, Sep 30 – Firebuds (HALLOWEEN EPISODE) 10:30am Disney Channel.
I don’t know why everything Halloween is getting premiered in September, but I’m over the top excited and I hope all this excitement pays off with a monstober surprise.

  • I remember watching Disney as a kid and always looked forward to Sunday nights. I even watched Disney as I grew older and became an adult. Eventually, I had children and raised them watching Disney. As a family we all have our favorites and miss seeing them aired on the Disney Channel. The old Disney Halloween movies were the best!
I’m sure I’ve missed a couple but here are some of the best…
Don’t look under the bed, Under wraps (1997), Mr. Boogedy, Bride of Boogedy, Tower of Terror, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1949), The Scream Team, Phantom of the Megaplex, Mom’s got a date with a Vampire, Bed knobs and Broom sticks, Halloweentown, Halloweentown II, Halloweentown High, Return to Halloweentown, The Black Cauldron, Frankenweenie, The Haunted Mansion, Fantasia, Escape to With Mountain, Return from Witch Mountain, The Ghosts of Buxley Hall, Something Wicked This Way Comes, The Watcher in the Woods, The Addams Family, The Devil and Max Devlin, Dragonslayer, and The Cat from Outer space.

Hoping next Halloween is another Halloween DCOM – AND No, I do not want an ‘Under Wraps 3’ with “EVEN MORE MORE MUMMIES”
THE extra mummies is obscured, can’t we just be creative and more spookier than mummies?
I loved Under Wraps last year, it was a great welcoming to spooky season, but they really didn’t need a sequel this Halloween.
If anything, we should get a sequel to Girl vs. monster, that movie definitely needs a sequel. But I wouldn’t say everything needs a sequel, let’s just make new Halloween movies every Halloween and have fun!

‘Under Wraps 2’ premieres Sun, Sep 25th at 8/7c after a new Halloween Episode of Bunk’d at 7:30pm.
Under Wraps (2021) will likely be aired at 8:00pm on Sat, Sep 24th since they have no room for it on the 25th because of the new episode of BUNK’D.
All I can say is… this is freaking amazing!
First, A SUNDAY NIGHT?! They haven’t had Sunday premieres in like 6-8 years.
Second, Halloween will begin in September on Disney Channel making this the first Monstober to take place in September.
Finally, premiering in September is kinda odd for Disney, they are letting loose Halloween premieres earlier which might be a “HOPEFUL” sign that they will use that extra room for Halloween movies.
You can check out the ‘Under Wraps 2’ trailer on Disney Channels YouTube.

Let’s keep hoping for a Monstober Return

  • Please start October with Girl vs Monster, Twitches, and Twitches Too. Lot more than once and then please start Halloween this year with Halloweentown, Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, Halloweentown High, and Return to Halloweentown. Please make it last the entire Halloween day. Please and thanks.

  • Please start the month with The Legend of Sleepy Hollow from 1949 to allow the children today the opportunity to experience a masterpiece from 70 years ago. Flood your Monstober lineup with all of the greats from Disney!

  • Something I do not like is how when the schedule finally appears on the guide for October everything is labeled as TBA for 3-8 days. Legit, Disney is the only channel to do that and it’s irritating.
I don’t know why, or how, but my only guess is Disney is slow on making their holiday month schedules if they can’t do it, give the job to somebody who can.

Besides that, Happy July 1st everyone, we are another step closer to a disappointing monstober on Disney Channel. Or, more just like Disney considering the so called “Channel” is just reruns of big city greens which does not fit into the category of a channel.

I noticed you did some updates to this website and I love them.
Everything looks amazing and I like how you updates the detail on monstober and unfortunately had to add that monstober ended 😢
Hopefully this year they will play at least a single airing of Halloweentown but I’ll just go to Freeform and AMC fear fest where they acknowledge fans.
Happy early Halloween! 70 days till Falltime

Thank you Jason, I am glad you like the updates! Yes, it was with much sadness to include what appears to have been the official ending to Monstober. So disappointing. Happy early Halloween to you! Can’t wait for October.
