What is Monstober? Monstober (previously named Disney Channel’s Hauntober Fest and later called Wiz-tober in 2008) was a nightly marathon of Halloween-related movies that debuted on October 1, 2005 on Disney Channel. In 2012, Wiz-tober was renamed Monstober to get ready for the Girl Vs. Monster premiere. Monstober officially ended after October 2016. Since 2021, Disney Channel has ran the “Calling All the Monsters” programming block during the month of October featuring various Halloween themed TV specials and original movies.

  • Really disappointed in the Disney lineup this year Last year was terrible but this seems worse. Twitches on, a Saturday morning and Sunday morning 1 time at 11 a.m. Hardly anything is scheduled, what the heck is the matter with them! Same goes for Cartoon Network, not once was Scary Godmother shown, or Ed, Edd and Eddy. What’s the matter, they aren’t making enough money?

I used to love watching Halloween movies when I was little but now the movies that they’ve been showing aren’t really good nor scary, they’re just plain boring. I used to watch ABC family all the time but now they just show reruns of the same thing every year and its just getting old. I am very disappointed with the ABC family inc. Just because they’re not making enough money doesn’t mean that they should rerun the same stuff every year, even though nobody likes what they run. No wonder they aren’t making enough money.

I wish they would air old Halloween movies from the 1980s- 1990s on. Like: under wraps, don’t look under your bed, Casper one, Casper meets wendy, tower of terror ect. Remember ones movies growning up as a kid I do miss ones Halloween movies on here.

  • The 2017 Halloween line up is horrible!!! What the hell happened to halloweentown , casper, monster under my bed. Why are you repeating movies instead of playing good ones? My family looks forward to your line up every year. We record all our favorites and watch them on the weekend. You really let us down this year.

  • This year’s movie lineup is junk! Disney use to play a Halloween movie every night at 8 and sometimes even 2 movies a night and weekends always had 3 movies a day! They are no longer playing the movies that EVERYONE was always thrilled about seeing like Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown series, Phantom of the megaplex, Moms got a date with a vampire, etc…. Last year the played Halloweentown once and never played Hocus Pocus. Now they their playing Monsters Inc, and Mickeys Spooktacular, Wizards of Waverly Place those are not true Disney Halloween movies. I’m not sure what Disney is trying to do this year and last year but they are failing tremendously at putting out a good movie lineup and movies that EVERYONE has always looked forward to watching and now people don’t even give it a second look and pass right over Disney Channel when looking for a good movie. Plus they are never consistent on what time movies are playing or anything else for that matter. Bring back the good Halloween movies Disney don’t disappoint this year!!!!!

  • I haven’t even seen one mention of Monstober at all so far. I agree with all of these other commenters. Halloweentown is a staple for Disney. Utterly disappointed.

  • Honestly I love new and different things. Disney might not play the movies but, at least they can be watched on demand. Love the earlier stuff! It’s from when I grew up. My kids, nieces and nephews love the shows. Haven’t seen anything new for 2017 YET , I know it will come. Still a kid at heart ! Love you guys!!!!

Ummm I read where it said the Halloween towns will be the last week of the month, but what about Twitches, Twitches Too, and Hocus Pocus???

    • Twitches and Twitches *should* also air the last week. Hocus Pocus is aired on Freeform (formerly ABC Family and owned by the same company as Disney Channel).
