What is FearFest? In 1997, the AMC network launched Monsterfest, a popular week-long marathon of horror movies and thrillers that aired in late October. On September 26, 2008, AMC announced the launch of a new horror-themed movie marathon for its October schedule called “Fearfest” which replaced Monsterfest.  Fear Fest typically runs from mid-October every year until Halloween (often the day after too) and in recent years has run throughout the entire month of October. In 2023 AMC ran a “Kickoff to FearFest” that began on September 25th.

i wonder if anyone at AMC ever reads this blog. hope so, as the FEST this year was good to a point, but severely lacking in many ways.

HALLOWEEN, FRIDAY THE 13TH series were played way too often and though i love them – there’s room for other movies.

again i reiterate, as others have, show them in the proper order. there were so many parts of every series missing. truly disappointing.

including movies like INDEPENDENCE DAY, JAWS, JURASSIC PARK, were not necessary.

and closing on oct 30, 31, nov 1 with the HALLOWEEN series, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN, was really sad. 29 times they were shown, in 2 days!!!!!

they missed the rest of the CHUCKY movies, and what about CANDYMAN?

and again, why was the programming not run 24×7 – the night time stuff was cruddy!!

FINAL DESITINATION was missing a good part of the series.

PARANORMAL movies – okay – really – watching hours of home video with some scary snipits is truly boring!!!

thanks anyway AMC, but it would be nice to hear on this blog, from AMC – hoping next year is much better.

Out of all the Halloween films, why does Halloween II (1981) always get the boot? Makes no sense to show Rob Zombie’s film. I mean unless they don’t have rights to it or something???

Why do you play the Halloween movie franchise three days in a row? Why not just save if for Halloween?

It’s a shame that Children Under the Stairs doesn’t get a daytime showing, it’s always at the obscure hours of night and only airs once. That film deserves more recognition than some of these so-called classics like Friday the 13th Part 9 and Halloween 6.

Would also be nice if they had chosen to air some other greats such as Exorcist 3 or Black Christmas. I like that Lake Placid is there, it’s quite a fun one and a few more of that nature such as the original Leprechaun would have also been welcome. And there’s always room for some silly ones such as Cutting Class or Troll.
