What is FearFest? In 1997, the AMC network launched Monsterfest, a popular week-long marathon of horror movies and thrillers that aired in late October. On September 26, 2008, AMC announced the launch of a new horror-themed movie marathon for its October schedule called “Fearfest” which replaced Monsterfest.  Fear Fest typically runs from mid-October every year until Halloween (often the day after too) and in recent years has run throughout the entire month of October. In 2023 AMC ran a “Kickoff to FearFest” that began on September 25th.

What films are you showing on actual Halloween, Oct 31? You only show schedule up to Oct 30.

Yeah…. They really dropped the ball this year. Too much Walking Dead, too much Jurrassic Park, I mean I like Alien but it shouldn’t be a part of FearFest. Maybe I’m looking back with rose colored glasses but it has been much, much better in the past

  • Is it too much to ask for you to play a movie series in the right order? Stop playing 4 and 5 before 1 and 2

  • I have been watching Monster/fearfest since ’02 and this is the first time I have seen them not care about it. The way they started off is not good to me. There is no anticipation for the movies, no buliding us up, no excitement. This is the problem with them having it for a month long. They have already shown the Halloween movies, The omen Trilogy, and then on Friday the Friday the 13th marathon. That’s all in the first week of the marathon which is not good. Then they will show them again in two weeks. Amc needs to go back the basics start off with the universal monsters, then ghost/ paranormal for the second week. The last week should be all about slashers. It would bulid up anticipation, it would be fun and most importantly it would be fun and exciting to watch again!

In 1963, Michael Meyers murders his sister on Halloween night. Years later, he escapes from a mental hospital and returns to his hometown to kill again. Watch

now that it’s underway, it’s really nice to see these movies again, so THANKS!

it’s too bad though, that you’re showing the same movies over and over and over again. twice during fearfest is really enough, as there are so many other horror movies available that can fill these spots.

as well, why does the good programming stop mid-evening on sundays, and at 10pm on weekdays? fearfest should continue 24×7 during october!

walking dead is STILL on during this fest – and honestly – it doesn’t have a place during this month, as it’s on all the time!

i love the ‘halloween’ series, and the ‘friday the 13th’ series, but there are more horror movies to be seen this month, instead of repeating them so many times.

and for heaven’s sake, please show the series in sequence, and don’t leave any of them out. some of the ‘omen’ movies are listed, but not all, and not all the ‘chucky’ movies either.

thanks for including final destination series. would also love to see the newer ‘haunting’, and some other faves!

    • I am convinced that AMC is content to shove The Walking Dead down everyone’s throats to squeeze every inch out of the TV ratings that they possibly can, while the show continues to die a slow, horrible death. It’s old, boring, and has dragged on way too long. But don’t try to convince AMC of that. It won’t matter. They will only believe it when the TV ratings finally tank to rock bottom.

Pretty stupid isn’t it? For some odd reason part 2 is always given this treatment, do not know why bc it’s one of the best sequels to any franchise out there. Personally I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the board room with the brain trusts at AMC during Fear Fest time, must be a lot of clanking around with those ball bearings in their heads.
