Very annoyed by ABC or no other network airing the Great Pumpkin this year in 2020. It’s a holiday tradition and just to see it gone like this is so depressing. I’ve heard the contract rights expired earlier this year, but I would’ve expected another network like FOX or NBC to acquire the rights to the special between February(when they aired Be My Valentine) and October to work out license deals. I’ve contacted ABC once already asking where the specials will move to on TV, but I have not heard a response. I will be contacting them later today along with my local affiliate like another person on these comments. I hope someone else acquires the rights, as this is very disappointing and I hope that the Christmas and Thanksgiving specials air on TV. I have heard that Apple TV+ has an exclusive streaming deal, but I’m not sure if that has to do with anything. You can watch it now if you have a Apple TV+ subscription or for free on October 30th and 31st. Halloween specials aren’t complete without the Great Pumpkin. I hope Peanuts Worldwide LLC, DHX Media and ABC can learn from this – holidays aren’t just the same without Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang.
That’s why I purchased the Holiday 3 dvd set which includes The Great Pumpkin Patch, the Peanuts Thanksgiving, and the Peanuts Christmas special. I know it’s not the same but I get to see it with my first grandson. They are pretty economical if you buy them on eBay.

Yeah, I heard about that. You would’ve expected ABC to move it to another network though like FOX since they aired Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown a few years ago and since they own the 2015 movie.

Somebody must have been offended by Lucy murdering the pumpkin. I knew this would happen. It was just a matter of time.
I left an email with ABC and my local affiliate. I hope to hear from them today. 2020 needs to cut it out with all the craziness!
Got a reply back from the regional scheduling guy. There are no plans for ABC airing the special this year. I am checking on “A Charlie Brown Christmas”.

Well it’s not on tonight because of the nba finals.
I haven’t been able to find out i almost believe that they are not going to air it the great pumpkin charile brown I found where they are going air Coco but last year they release the date for it’s the great pumpkin charile brown before October this year i can’t find a Date anywhere if this is so I am sad it a tradition in this house
We are hoping they do air it this year, maybe they will on Halloween night. Normally they don’t air it on Halloween since most people are out trick or treating but with covid restrictions many will be staying home. Fingers crossed and the minute we know the day and time we will post it here.

Unfortunately Laura it will not air again this year. ABC usually airs it only twice per year, at the most.
